The walk from our house to the town's center is no joke - it's only about a mile, but it is down down down a BIG hill. It's a great way to start the day! I'm actually surprised by how quickly Chloe adapted to this walk - she was pretty grumpy about it the first day, but now she seems to really love it. It takes forever, since we have to stop to look at every flower, dog and dragonfly, plus take photos in front of myriad doors, gates and archways, but it's fun. We've yet to walk all the way back up - that's when the city's cheap taxis come in handy.

The little steps that lead out of our neighborhood and onto the somewhat major street that leads into town.

Past the Puertecita Hotel,
the only business near our house. We love this place - we call it the
Hummingbird Hotel because of the many colibrís flying around! The
hotel's restaurant is a great spot for breakfast on our way to town, or
for a little respite (ie: 'ritas for us, ice cream for Chloe) after a
day of walking. |

Down down down we go. The narrow cobblestone streets can be tricky to navigate - this is definitely not flip flop territory! |
|
So many random, beautiful architectural elements along the way.

We keep going straight here to get to town, but there's a turn off that leads to the town's wonderful El Jardín. |
|
We posed for Chloe - she wanted to take a walking shot. |
|
It looks like we'll have a whole album of Chloe-con-puertas photos.... |

The pink church gets happy bunny
ears! At this point we are technically in town, but it's still a couple
more steep blocks downhill to get to the heart of the shops and
eateries. This walk will keep us in good shape! |
